9:40 am Nutritional Supplements This weekend one of my cats, Mistah Magloo, managed to get outside. Before we moved to NH the cats were indoor/outdoor but mostly outdoor. Once we moved to NH, we still let the cats go out but subsequently we've lost 2 (out of the original 6) to the wilderness. Natives up here warned us about the dangers of fisher cats but I think the coyotes are a bigger danger. The most recent cat we lost was Norton. He was a fat, happy clown with a territorial and confrontational streak when it came to "stranger" animals. I believe that one day he went out exploring and tangled with a wild animal and lost. Ever since then the last 2 cats we have are no longer allowed to go outside. My MIL argues with us about it but we stand our ground. I know that last summer she still would let the cats out even though we told her not to - not because she couldn't remember not to let them out, but because she's not able to say "no" to them with they beg at the door. This is the same woman who will sit on the floor rather than kick a snoozing cat out of her chair. Anyway, Mistah Magloo got out. In 15 minutes I was able to locate him under the truck. And damn if he wasn't already chewing on something small, grey and furry. Damn he's fast. |
